Sandkugeln (Jam-filled butter cookies)

Ingredients
Yield: 35 cookies
- 200g butter or margarine
- 200g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar (about 1 tsp)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 packet baking powder (about 1 1/2 tsp)
- 450g flour
- 4 Tablespoons Jam (any kind)
Description
Sandkugeln (Jam-filled butter cookies), a classic and traditional German Christmas cookie that is easy to bake.
Preparation
Prep Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins
- Preheat oven to 200°F
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, baking powder, and flour until smooth.
- Roll into walnut sized balls and place on the sheet with some space between them.
- Press a small indentation in each and fill with jam.
- Bake for about 15 minutes until lightly golden.
