Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

Yields: Bakers dozen(13) + 4 or 5

  • 3/4 cup Soften Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 1 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cloves

Description

Soft, chewy, and full of old-fashioned flavor, these molasses cookies are a comforting classic. The rich sweetness of molasses pairs perfectly with a hint of warm spices like cinnamon and ginger, creating a cookie that’s both hearty and nostalgic. Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee, a glass of milk. These cookies stay tender for days and are sure to become a family favorite.

Preparation

Prep Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins Preheat Oven to 350F

  1. In a bowl cream together margarine, brown sugar, molasses.
  2. Add one well beaten egg to creamed mixture until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the rest of the dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
  4. Shape into small balls and roll in granulated white sugar, flatten with or without sugar flatten to the thickness of provided picture.
  5. Place on cookie sheet two fingers apart from each other.
